Meet Glanies Takahata
I am the founder of The Habit Engineer! I am a weight-loss coach for busy, successful professionals, helping people like you get in the best shape of your life, ever. I also work full-time as a Senior Executive in a demanding and dynamic office. While living an incredibly busy life, I managed to lose 8kg of body fat I never imagined genetically possible. I am also a wife, and caregiver of two teenaged boys who live with me. Every weekend, I run a children and youth development programme and mentor young adults. Like you, it is a gross understatement to say that we have a lot going on in life.
Meet Melvin Takahata
Meet my husband, Melvin! He works full-time as a touring audio engineer with unpredictable schedules and have work days as long as 16 hours. He also mentors young adults on weekends whenever he is not travelling and volunteers with the audio team at our local church. Despite the busyness and the frequent flying, he lost 16kg of body fat, and have maintained his current physique for the past three years. He was my first client, and will always be the guinea pig of all my experiments.
We know how it feels like trying to lose weight while being overwhelmed with demands at work and at home. Using willpower, you force yourself to be consistent with your weight-loss plans. However, every day when you get home from work exhausted, you struggle to get your butt off the couch to exercise because you simply have no more energy left. Work often takes priority, and as much as you hate to do so, you push aside your execise and nutrition plans so you can meet your project deadlines. You eat out often because cooking is such a pain. You have to attend many social functions where you find it difficult to eat right. Sometimes you succeed for a few months and lose a little weight, only to have it come back on after a while. You create plans after plans only to fall off and feel miserable. It is frustrating and demoralising, and it sucks to think that you have to continue living like this forever.

Melvin and I lived that life and it was miserable. We were obsessed with our weight. We were obsessed with every morsel of food that we put in our mouths. We cursed ourselves for skipping our workouts. Bleah. It was horrible.

I don't know why it took me so long to think of that. Argh! It would have saved us so much agonising.

We were able to change the way we ate and the way we moved permanently. Results followed very quickly once the habits were established. Afterall, you know that ANY weight-loss plan in the world will work as long as you consistently stay on it.
